Modern fireplace inserts are the perfect fusion of heating technology and interior design, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere of traditional open fireplaces in a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly way. These closed-firebox appliances are ideal for both new-build homes and existing chimney systems.

Features of modern fireplace inserts

• High heating efficiency: A key characteristic of modern fireplace inserts is outstanding efficiency, which can reach values above 80%. This means that most of the energy generated from wood burning is utilized for heating rather than escaping through the chimney. Thanks to efficient combustion, less wood is needed to reach and maintain the desired temperature.
• Eco-conscious combustion: Contemporary models feature so-called secondary and tertiary air intakes, ensuring complete and clean wood combustion. As a result, harmful emissions are significantly reduced, and less soot and ash are produced, protecting both the environment and the chimney.
• Innovative technology: Keeping the glass surface clean is ensured by an air wash system, which protects the glass from soot deposits using a thin air curtain. This keeps the view of the flames unobstructed. Some premium models are even equipped with automatic combustion control, optimizing the air supply.

BEN-KEL modern style fireplace inserts

Benkel modern fireplace inserts feature larger glass surfaces, and their doors—maximized in size—cover the ash drawer, which can only be emptied after opening the door.

In this style, standard equipment includes a connection option for external combustion air and a control mechanism.

• The modern fireplace is a completely room-air independent model; the primary (through the grate), secondary (through the heat shield), and tertiary (the air wash – air curtain) combustion air supplies all originate from an external air source.
• The combustion chamber is made of cast iron, while the door and frame are crafted from high-quality sheet metal.
• The door opening direction of modern fireplace inserts can be chosen as either right-handed or left-handed.
• We recommend them for new-build homes where an extractor fan / range hood is located in the same space as the fireplace insert, which could otherwise interfere with each other’s operation.
